I Love Presents & Parcels!

It may look like this outside....
....but I'm smiling (and it's nothing to do with the fireman who appear to have taken residence outside my house watching a broken chimney!) because today I've been....
My mum and I always say to each other when off on a shopping trip "buy me a pressie" and today it was mum who brought back the treats.
Some perfect films to enjoy over the Bank Holiday weekend (and socks to keep my feet warm!)
How cute is this timer and whisk my godmother (who mum was shopping with) brought me.
And of course I had to race home when my dad called to say I had a small parcel and a box from Amazon.
Is it possible to be a book addict?!
I think you'll agree, I just had to add these books to my collection!!
&
I think I'll need some practicing before I can make any creations from either of these!!
I'll be able to use my new whisk & timer when testing out the recipes in this one
I can't wait to take this Gone With The Wind book to bed this evening
it's filled with wonderful images which I hope to scan and use in some crafting!
ANDDDDDDD last but certainly not least this cute package from Follow Your Bliss arrived....
This is what I brought
and here's all the cute lil extras Mary Ann popped inside!
It's now time for me to go to bed with my new books but before I go don't forget to enter my giveaway here!

Sunday Catch Up and a Giveaway

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Rain was expected today but before it started I was able to hit 2 bootsales.

I found a bag of postcards but they wanted £1 each so I choose my 3 favourites.

And wonderfully written on the backs.

I knew I'd love these books just by their covers,

and wasn't disappointed when I looked inside, such cute images.

And another old looking box which contained some great cards for crafting

I was hunting for vintage ric rac on eBay the other day and managed to find some so jumped in quickly with a bid and was lucky enough to "win".

My mum also treated me to some jars on a visit to a local antique haunt,

and ribbons she thought I could use for presents and crafts - thanks mum!

Nene at Love Conquers All had a great giveaway over at her blog... there was not just a gift for one but a gift we could ALL use.
It was this GORGEOUS picture of Audrey Hepburn to use as we wished!

What fun... I love Audrey Hepburn... my room is covered in her images so I knew I could do something with this!
Then I remembered that I still had to offer a giveaway following one I won over at Creative Art & Craft.

Alison sent me this and I just needed to offer an ATC or similar to my readers.
I have on offer these 9 Audrey Hepburn tags,

So yes, that's 9 winners. Here's some close ups,

I will draw the 9 people from the hat next Saturday 3rd May, just leave me a comment on this post between now and then!
Right I have some blogs to catch up on, enjoy the rest of your day.

Everyone must read...

THIS BOOK....

I brought "Summer at Tiffany" by Majorie Hart in New York last year and only got around to reading it this week... 2 days and I was finished!

It's a true story by one of the first female pages ever to work on the Tiffany shop floor and as lovers of yesteryear I'm sure it'll appeal to you all.

I had to tell you all about it!

Let me know if you've read it and what you thought....

New Banner....

...So do you like it?

I was never happy with the image on my banner and when I heard about Counting Your Blessings free banners I hopped over for a look here but just wasn't sure which one to choose.

Then when I saw there was some new ones featuring faux desserts from Cupcakes on Display I had a feeling one of these would be the chosen one!
A quick call to my photo shop friend and Vintage Tea was added to it and onto my blog it went!
I'm really pleased with how it looks!
Hope you're all having a good week,

Show & Tell Sunday

I've been admiring Show & Tell Sundays throughout blogland, hosted by Cerri & Analise and decided to join in today following a raid of my mum's jewellery box!
I love these spider brooches, of which mum has a couple and always borrow one at Halloween!
I also managed to get to a boot sale today, favouring the one held in a car park over the one in a field after last nights rain.
I picked up these cute Japanese figures
and some board games... for the tiles to use in crafting of course!
I'm now off to sort my photographs. I thought these new pink boxes were more pleasing than the old!
Hope you're all having a lovely Sunday.

A bit crafty.... a bit thrifty....

So far this weekend is shaping up to be pretty good!

Friday I managed to sneak out of work a bit early (shusshhhh don't tell anyone!).
On the way home I was inspired with an idea for Karla's great aunts 100th birthday card challenge and having a few extra hours in the evening, out came my craft supplies (onto my bed of course!)

Here's the card I made, 100 years of beauty...

Then whilst my supplies were out I decided to get on with a tag request for a friend. I'd told him about my recent tag swap and he said he would like a Thundercats tag to hang at work.

Saturday arrived and off I went to the local charity shops.... this is what I found,

I knew when I saw this box it was going to be something I could use.

I wasn't disappointed, alphabet cards - great for crafting!

I was given Martha Stewarts Homekeeping Handbook for my birthday so when I saw this vintage Home-Lovers Encyclopedia I thought it would be a perfect companion.

There are lots' of illustrations, not to sure whether I will use it in crafts or keep it on the book shelf? What do you think?

One thing I can always find in our charity shops is vintage sheet music. I picked up some children's ones today. I seem to use a lot of sheet music in my crafting lately. I did get a strange look following this conversation,
"is the music for you?"
"yes"
"what do you play"
"ermmmmm i don't, i use it for crafting"

A rummage in the sewing area and I came out with some buttons, lace and seam binding

And I love lidded glass jars so always happy to find one! Perfect for storing my "new" buttons in.
Fingers crossed the rain holds off tomorrow so I can go to some boot sales whilst I'm on a roll!
